Project overview
The city expands and contracts without treating permanence as the default.
The proposal studies the religious, social and logistical patterns of the Ijtema alongside Bhopal’s wider cultural geography. It treats stay, prayer, washing, food and utility needs as connected flows that peak sharply and then recede.
A modular structural kit supports rapid horizontal and vertical growth for the event. Between gatherings, components and sites can serve everyday public uses or be reconfigured for emergency response, allowing temporary infrastructure to contribute beyond a single occasion.
