Project overview
A functional pool hall shaped by the character of water.
The plan places an Olympic pool and training pool within a clear functional framework for athletes, spectators, services and multiple entrances. The building form then departs from the conventional rectangular pool enclosure through a flowing roof profile.
Wave geometry, underwater light and a sliding roof informed the architectural language. Structural studies compare a conventional solution with a topology-informed lattice intended to reduce visual weight while spanning the pool hall without intermediate supports.
