Prof. (Dr.) Bishnu Prasad Mishra, an innovative self-styled person born and groomed by nature and the natural environment, always makes his presence felt among his friends and co-workers. He believes in “Basudheba Kutumbakam” logic and practices it in his managerial life. Dr Mishra received a post-graduate and a doctoral degree in Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal, India. To fine-tune his work style, he completed an MBA from Utkal University in Production and Human Resource Management. He has developed three farm implements in collaboration with IIT Bhubaneswar, which are now commercially produced and marketed in Odisha. He played an instrumental role in drafting the Odisha State Agriculture Policy – 95 and implementing the same in Odisha. He has developed the concept of an Agro Service Center to meet the demand for agricultural machines after the super cyclone -1999 and a monitoring mechanism for irrigation / commercial agricultural enterprises implemented in the state of Odisha. Owning five patents, he is presently associated with R&D activities, the development of new concepts for enriching rural livelihood and training them to use the latest state-of-art technologies under the digital system.
